I have a background as an independent insurance agent, with experience and training in life and health insurance.

Most recently, I have undertaken coursework with the College for Financial Planning’s CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ CFP® Certification. Covering the main topics of financial planning, I have completed courses in:

  • General Financial Planning Principles

  • Insurance Planning

  • Investment Planning

  • Tax Planning

  • Retirement Planning

  • Estate Planning

I passed the CFP® exam in March 2025 and am currently looking for a position in financial planning.

About

My insurance background extends back to 2004, when my career started with providing supplemental health insurance coverage to individuals and businesses, and later as an independent agent focusing on the roll out of new Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans. After a break, I later added life insurance and annuities licensure in 2014 and the Series 65 securities license from 2014-2019.

As an independent advisor, I always prided myself on having the widest possible range of strategies or products so that I could always do what is in the best interest of each client. To that end, I treated each client as if I were working on behalf of myself, or a sibling, parent, or grandparent.

I have a wide range of life experiences. Educated as a classically-trained musician (percussionist) and jazz drummer, I have performed for audiences on five continents, two oceans, and several seas. In addition to my extensive travels which included performing as well as humanitarian aid and serving local churches worldwide, I also spent 6 ½ years custom designing worldwide concert tours for choirs, bands, and orchestras, and religious pilgrimages for church groups.

My wife and I have been married for over 20 years and live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia with our three children.
